Amy Ash
Freelance Character Supervisor/Art Director
Amy Ash has been working in illustration and animation for over 20 years, working in a wide range of styles across advertising, television, and game cinematics. Drawing on her training as a traditional media illustrator and many years working as a generalist, she has worked for companies such as Passion Pictures, Aardman, and Goodbye Kansas. She joined Axis Studios in 2018, where she has led the character team on projects such as Riot’s Tales of Runeterra series, The Love Death and Robots episode “The Tall Grass” for Netflix, and the Diablo Immortal launch trailer. She most recently served as Head of Characters at Axis Animation.
Amy Ash is a true artist, with impeccable taste, skill and technique. Over the years, we've had a chance to bring many AAA game cinematics to life at Axis Studios, where Amy supervised character creation as head of department spanning a vast range of projects, from sci-fi to fantasy, and everything in between. I hope students will be able to pick up not just amazing character creation techniques, but also the many insights into the animation industry at large from Amy’s vast experience!
